6 tips of my experience in managing website
Nowadays building a website or blog is very easy, for there are many free CMS and blog system. The basic thing we need to do is to buy our domain and hosting. Then we can launch our websites and blogs. The threshold of building websites is so low that many people come to launch their sites. But there are also many sites closed everyday. I ever considered abandoning one of my website which is about robot and robotics. Finally with help from many friends, I restarted the small professional website.
The site had been really dead for several days. I felt regret about this in those days, and then I analyzed the reasons for closing the site. I’d like to share my experience here.
- Interest – We must have interest in what we are doing on our website. Where there is interest, there is passion. Then we can persist on developing our websites. If you are not interest in basketball, but you launched a basketball website, you probably can not keep your work insist longer.
- Resource – We must have the predominance of resources or have the predominance to capture resources before we launch our sites. We developed our robotic website, because we a lot of resources of robot products, robot books and robotics. We ever build our robots and participated in some robot contest. If you do not have the preponderant resources, you can not build a professional website and convince people to read it
- Goal – We must have a goal in developing our sites. The goal may include many aspects, such as IP, page views, affiliate member, ads, and revenue. We can set long-term and short-term goals. Do not concentrate yourself on working but without a goal. Whenever you achieve some goals, you can give yourself award.
- Perspective – After setting goals, we also should dig into the perspective of our websites. Where are our websites going? What level will the site develop to? How to do marketing for our sites? We should acknowledge all of these. Do not launch a site that has no perspective.
- Team – To launch a website, we’d better form a team. The member of the team would be your friends around you and friends on the network. Make sure both you have the same goal and be passionate. Sometimes you may feel alone in developing your website by yourself. The wisdom of a team always surpasses personal wisdom. Effective team work will speed up the development of your websites.
- Perseverance - when developing your sites, you can not predict what difficulties you will encounter. Do no give up, keep your passion, and insist on your work. You will be successful one day.
The above 6 tips is what I have learned in developing my robotic website. Maybe it is brief, but it is my words from heart to you. There is still a long way to go, don’t give up, we will succeed.
