There are many site-building applications, such as Google Pages and Esitesbuilder. But some of these tools are free with little control, or too specialized to for a beginner to use. Webon is a free smart website publishing tool, which allows you to create websites like blog, photo album, personal site, wedding site, travelogue, etc.

Creating a site is very easy. You don’t need to have HTML knowledge. You only have to drag the text box, image, or navigation to the page and organize the layout. I have create a blog and a photo album on Weborn. The process is similar. If you want to publish to your own domain, you can upgrade to Webon personal plan. You’ll have no limit to the number of images you can upload. Sadly to say, you can not use your own exist domain, you have to register a new domain at Webon for your site.

Webon supports OpenID now. You can sign in with a Webon username or with any OpenID that you might already have. You
won’t even need to register.

YouTomb is a research project by MIT Free Culture that tracks videos taken down from YouTube for alleged copyright violation. YouTomb continually monitors the most popular videos on YouTube for copyright-related takedowns. Any information available in the metadata is retained, including who issued the complaint, how long the video was up, the ratings and views of the video before takedown. These videos are not available for viewing and downloading.

As we know, YouTube generally doesn’t take videos down themselves, but uses a scanning system that automatically notifies rights holders when suspected infringements occur. Whenever YouTube’s automated system finds a matching fingerprint (or part of the fingerprint), it notifies the rights holder. At that point, the rights holder can optionally take down the video.

Shrink O’Matic is an AIR application to easily (batch) resize (shrink) images. It handles JPGs, GIFs and PNGs.

Simply drag and drop images, or browse images and they’ll be resized as you wish! Options allow you to choose the output sizes, names and formats. It’s vey easy and useful.

TweetCube allows you to share files on Twitter. You can sign in TweetCube with your Twitter name and password. Then upload the files you want to share. The file can be a .zip, .rar, .pdf, .jpg, .png, .gif, .mp3 or .txt. You can write a short description to the image and then publish the link on Twitter.

TweetCube is 100% free but the maximum file size you can upload is currently 10mb. You can upload as many files as you want. But the files will be deleted in 30 days. So TweetCube is not a permanent file sharing service for you.

Some visitors come to ToBloggers from the keywords ‘Online Photo editor’ search on Google. There are many online photo/image editors, and some of those are free and professional. Today I will list 19 free online photo/image editors. Some of these tools are really cool and useful for you editing photos online. Pixenate

Pixenate is not only an online photo/image editor, but also a self-hosted solution software that you can install on your own web server. Pixenate is fully customizable and provides fully-documented API so you can change its appearance and behavior if you wish. Adding Pixenate to your website allows your visitors to edit photos.

Phixr

Phixr is a simple online image editor. You can upload photo files from your computer or enter a link to a photo on the internet, or transfer a photo from your account at Facebook, Flickr, Fotopic, Photobucket, Picasa, etc. You can save your image as JPG, PNG, PDF, GIF and OCR, or upload photos back to the accounts listed above.

Picnik

Picnik provides both free and premium accounts for you editing photos online. Free account has many function limitations. You have to sign in to edit your own photos, or you can play with a demo photo.

FotoFlexer

FotoFlexer is a free and easy online image editor. It is well-know for the top photo app of 2008 as a Webware 100 winner. I am glad to see that it has a Chinese version.

MyTheme

MyTheme online photo editor is a free tool that supports image and video types of GIF, JPG, BMP, PNG, AVI, MPG, FLV and RM, etc. You can get photos from your computer or a link on the internet, or account on the sites like Facebook, Flickr, etc.

FlauntR

FlauntR is a professional free photo editing. It was created with the vision of enabling consumers to enhance and monetize their photos or images without reading through heaps of user manuals or purchasing and downloading expensive software.

Snipshot

Snipshot has a Firefox extension for your browser and a free API for your own website. You can get Snipshot Pro $9 per month, or try it free.

Splashup

Splashup, formerly Fauxto, is a powerful editing tool and photo manager. With all the features professionals use and novices want, it’s easy to use, works in real-time and allows you to edit many images at once. Splashup runs in all browsers, integrates seamlessly with top photosharing sites, and even has its own file format so you can save your work in progress.

Webpictool

Webpictool is a free online photo editor. Upload or open web photo, then use the professional tool to edit it. It has many language versions.

Cellsea

Cellsea provides a free online photo editor. It was founded in 2002 and headquartered in New Jersey, is an online community where users & friends can upload their ringtones, wallpapers, games, application, and share their tastes. Cellsea.com also provides cell phone information such as reviews, specifications and price comparison services.

Onlinephototool

On Onlinephototool.com you can edit and save your images, screenshots and photos online. If you want to save your images online you need to register. Resize, crop, add text, sharpen, rotate, flip, colour balance, saturation, levels, paint, add icons, sepia, black and white.

Picresize

Picresize is a free online picture editor. You can get two versions: Picresize 2.0 and Picresize 3.0.

Fotocrib

Fotocrib is a web based photo editing service, which allows users to create montages, add 3D effects, encrypt photos, create rounded corners, etc.

MyImager

MyImager.com is your own free everything online image editor! Upload or call images from anywhere on the web and edit them freely with the the dozens of tools and filters.

Picture2Life

Picture2life is an Ajax based photo editor. It’s focused on grabbing and editing images that are already online. The tool selection is average, and the user interface is poor. There are some bugs on the site. Photos can be transferred to Flickr, 23 and Imageshack after editing.

Preloadr

Preloadr is a Flickr-specific tool that uses the Flickr API, even for account sign-in. The service includes basic cropping, sharpening, color correction and other tools to enhance images. The fact that Preloadr is designed specifically to work with Flickr may not be an advantage – some of the other services are just as good or better and also offer Flickr integration.

PiccyFix

PiccyFix.com is an instant, easy-to-use, free, online picture, image and photo editor. They also offer free image hosting.

PikiFX

PikiFX has all the basic tools you would expect. You can crop, resize, or add borders to your picture. You can also use a variety of effects to alter colors, make an image blurry, or add text.

Pixer

Pixer is a new AJAX-based online photo editor. If you’re looking for a quick fix for your photos online, Pixer can provide you all the necessary tools just using your browser. The service allow you to upload your image and offer a set of tools such resize, crop, rotate, flip,in addition to filters such brightness and contrast, saturation, colorfx, blur and sharpen, and specialfx.

Snackr is an RSS ticker that pulls random items from your feeds and scrolls them across your desktop. When you see a title that looks interesting, you can click on it to pop up the item in a window. Snackr was built using Adobe Flex 3 and Adobe AIR 1.0.

Snackr can run on Windows, Mac OS X amd Linux. If you’re running Windows or Mac OS X, just click the “Install Now” button on the home page of Snackr. If you are running Linux, you have to download Adobe AIR runtime and Snackr installer manually.

Open Snackr, you will see the app at the bottom of desktop. You will be asked to add feeds, import an OPML file or get started with default feeds. After adding feeds or importing OPML flies, you’ll see the feed news scrolling on the desktop. You can set the ticker speed and position on the preferences pane. The scrolled entries are small entries and clicking on an item of interest stops the scrolling and reveals an animated balloon window with more content and a link to the sites original post.

Ubuket is a web based multimedia service that aims to make access to your media anywhere and from as many devices as possible. You listen to music from iPods and last.fm, you watch videos in Youtube, you store photos in Picasa or Flickr, etc. Now you can create a player that can store and link these multimedia you like with Ubuket, give access to friends and family to listen to or view it.

Ubuket has both web and desktop applications, which allows you to access to your multimedia from your desktop, social network, and export it to your blog or web pages. All you need is an account. I firstly recommend you download the desktop app so that you can access to Ubuket from your desktop. To install Ubuket, you have to install Adobe AIR first.

Open Ubuket on your desktop and log in your account, search music, radio, videos, or photos. You can add the search result to your playlist or album. Both you and your friends have access to listen to your music and view your videos and photos. On the right interface of Ubuket, you can see list of new members. Click the member’s name, you will see their playlists, and you can listen to it.

I like Ubuket very much. I can listen to many songs online from desktop. The song plays very fluently. Enjoy it.
